FCS is Fishing Competition software that has been continuously developed, refined, used, and tested since 2007.
Fishing Competition Software is designed to work in hostile environments, stand-alone or networked it leverages a powerful database. It is designed by fishermen for fishermen who would rather be fishing than administering competitions. The idea was birthed by a competitor who waited for 3 hours at a prize giving in 2008 while the organisors shuffled 20 pieces of paper and eventually called all people who had caught more than 3 fish to the front. Computer software could have had the results ready in 5 minutes.
Since that day, the easy to use FCS software has been refined and tested over 2 years and more than 10 fishing competitions.
We are continually adding new features as competition organisors demand them, like the recent launch and beach register using barcode scanning.
Some of the features of Fishing Competion Software are:
- Put your branding and sponsors logo at the top of all screens
- Support for multiple competitions - choose from a master list of competitors that you build up.
- Easy registration: easy data capture screens allow you to capture many common bits of information per competitor.
- Capture defaults that remain with the competitor, but can be changed on a competition by competition basis, for example a competitor has a major sponsor but changes their sponsor only for one competition. Another example is, their t-shirt size might be XL but for one competition they want a Small t-shirt for their child.
- Adding Competitors to a competition: If a competitor is in the system, simply 1) search for them by typing any part of their surname or firstname, 2) Select them from the list, 3) add them to the competition with one click. 4) the entry screen automatically pops up.
- On the entry screen, 1) select wether or not they have paid, 2) the type of entry, and 3) optionally change their details. 4) Click "Save" and they are in the competition.
- Check who has and hasn't paid when they arrive at registration
- Check who hasn't registered and send them an email
- Export all data from the Fishing Competition Software to excel for detailed use:

- Do mass mail shots to your previous competitors encouraging them to enter the latest competition
- Send SMS's to all competitors using any database field like their catches, their position in the competition.
- Send SMS's to competitor's spouses inviting them to functions
- Add as many entry types as you like e.g. Lady, Child, Open, Rock and Surf, Ski-boat. Generate overall results and results for each of these entry types.
- Add as many legs as you like, generate results for the competition overall, or for each leg accumulatively, or for each legs individually, which is designed for daily prize givings during a competition,
- Three types of competition results available (we will add your type if you explain it to us): Species Multiplier, Biggest Catch and Total bag
- Advanced options allow you to tweak the different competition results e.g. biggest catch: Allowing multiple positions per competitor and biggest catch: one position per competitor.
- The Fishing Competition Software can generate results for any combination of: Entry type Leg, and Species group (e.g. Kingfish, Tuna, Bottom fish). This is useful for awarding special prizes for different species:
- Competition results list shows position, sponsors, total weight, number of species, points earned and lists each fish caught, the species, weight and points earned for each fish so there can be no queries afterwards !
- Advanced species multiplier options: extra points for catch and release, points for withness catch and release, minus points for killing a billfish, dont multiply points, use weight and points.
- Built-in length to weight calculator for local species using 2nd order polynomial formulae. (add your own species if its not in the list)
- Add your own species groups. Put limits on species groups and/or species. Also put limits on at the competition level (e.g. minimum 2kg weight, maximum 3 fish per species)
- Link a photo to each catch and show an automatic slide-show with the angle name, weight and species name while you work on the weigh-in.
- Barcode scanning enabled for registration, t-shirt collection, launching and beaching. Reports on who has not yet beached.
- Ranking: rank competitors over multiple competitions. Give each competition a different weighting ("degree of difficulty"). Ranking encourages more participation in your series.
- For tournaments, advanced ranking scoring options can setup, like: only take best 4 competitions, assign points to top 30, 5 points if someone caught a fish etc.
- Ranking list in excel shows competitor's sponsor , number of points and ranking position.
- Ranking detail list shows the competitions they entered and how they did in each one
